Ghion Peace Reconciliation and Development Association (GPRDA) has received certification marking its successful engagement in the 18-month European Union-funded Civil Society Capacity Strengthening for Peace (CS4P) project.
GPRDA has been actively involved in the project, which aims to enhance the role of Ethiopian peacebuilding civil society organizations in dialogue and reconciliation efforts at national, regional, and community levels. During this time, GPRDA received impactful technical skills training in Conflict Management Skills, Conflict Early Warning Response, Culture of Peace, Conflict Sensitivity and Leadership, and Peacebuilding Project Design and Management. Additionally, GPRDA received much-needed training to enhance its organizational capacity in areas such as Financial Management, Policy and Procedure, Procurement Policy and Procedure, Travel Management Policy and Procedure, Ethics and Anti-Corruption Policy, Human Resource Management Policy and Procedure, and Administration Policy and Procedure.
As an emerging CSO focused on peacebuilding efforts, GPRDA has greatly benefited from the CS4P’s capacity development trainings organized by the Life and Peace Institute in collaboration with the Ethiopian Institute of Peace and Inter Africa Group. The technical skills and organizational capacity support have significantly strengthened GPRDA’s ability to implement innovative peacebuilding initiatives in Ethiopia.
