GPRDA Provides Humanitarian Support to Two Local Charities in Gondar City

Ghion Peace, Reconciliation, and Development Association (GPRDA) provided humanitarian aid to two local charities in Gondar city: Kalen Benakafil-Home for the Elderly Orphans and the Mentally Disabled, and Mena Elderly and Mentally Challenged Support Center. The aid included various items such as mattresses, hygiene and sanitation products, diapers, and comfort clothes. This essential support was made possible through the generous backing of the USAID/OTI Ethiopian Support Program.

During the material handover event, the two charitable organizations expressed their gratitude for the support received. Following the handover ceremony, representatives from USAID/OTI ESP, local peace actors, and GPRDA staff visited the two charities. The two-hour visit provided insights into the establishment, services, and conditions of the charities. The visit highlighted the project’s focus on addressing the negative impacts of conflict and instability on vulnerable community members and the organizations that serve them.
