Ghion Peace Reconciliation and Development Association (GPRDA) organized a one-day dialogue session among IDPs in Dabat town on October 8th, 2024, focusing on social cohesion between IDPs and host communities. The intra-community dialogue at the Dabat IDP camp aimed to discuss social cohesion with IDP representatives and community members, exploring opportunities for integration and reintegration into a sustainable life.
The dialogue was highly welcomed by the participants. During the discussion, it was revealed that IDPs at the Dabat IDP Camp felt neglected and ignored by the concerned bodies, as little has been done to address their emergency needs and sustainable integration, relocation, or engagement in sustainable livelihood means. Hence, approaching IDP communities and valuing their ideas and reflections will lay the foundation for social cohesion, forgiveness, and reconciliation. Adequate participation of youth, women, and persons with disabilities (PWDs) was ensured at the event.
