About GPRDA

GhionPeace, Reconciliation, and Development Association (GPRDA) is a local civil society organization based in Gondar, North Western Ethiopia. Founded on April 15, 2021, the organization was born out of a profound commitment to fostering peace, development, and community resilience. Recognizing the intricate social dynamics and the need for inclusive, sustainable solutions, GPRDA is dedicated to bringing together a diverse range of stakeholders to promote peace and development. These stakeholders include community leaders who understand local needs, women who are vital to peacebuilding, youth who represent the future, ethnic minorities whose voices are often marginalized, and other organizations that provide essential support and resources. To foster peace, development, and community resilience, we actively implement innovative peace-building initiatives, and we are dedicated to supporting social and economic development as fundamental pillars of long-term peace, recognizing that true stability is rooted in both development and mutual respect. Our organization also provides comprehensive awareness-raising education and training, empowering individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to contribute to peace and development in their communities. We are likewise committed to fostering societal values that enhance peaceful co-existence, cultivating a culture of dialogue, and promoting civility in all interactions. Through our multifaceted approach, GPRDA strives to build a harmonious and resilient society where everyone can live with dignity, security, and hope for the future.
